Everest Advance Base Camp

Trek to the Advance Camp 6340m in Tibet. The walk takes you past some spectacular ice formations and close to Everest.

This spectacular trek in Tibet to Mt. Everest Advance Base Camp 6340m. is possibly the highest in the world not to involve any technical climbing. The route is up the East Rongbuk Glacier, from where you have superb mountain views.

For part of the trek we hike on a trail referred to as the serac highway, where we have stunning ice formation on either side of the trail. When we get to Advance Base Camp we can watch mountaineers from various expeditions trying to reach the top. We begin our trek with a flight to Lhasa. We drive to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest from where we begin our trek. Our journey to Lhasa and the drive gives us time to acclimatise

The trek will be fully supported by Tibetan guides for the overland journey and a team of Nepalese Sherpas will provide the support team from Rongbuk onwards for the trek. All meals will be prepared by the Nepalese team at Rongbuk and on the trek. Yaks will carry our trekking gear.
